My name is Rob Samudrala, and I am the founder and Senior Attorney of RNS Law Group and DUI Defense Group. As a former prosecutor, I have years of experience inside the DUI and criminal court system throughout Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, and Orange Counties.

Since 2008, I have dedicated my career to defending people facing DUI and criminal charges. I have successfully handled hundreds of DUI cases for people from all walks of life, including clients who never imagined they would find themselves in this position.

I understand that being arrested can be stressful, confusing, and embarrassing. Most people want straight answers: Am I going to jail? What happens to my license? What is this going to cost me? How will this affect my job, family, record, or future? My goal is to give you honest answers, explain the process clearly, and help you make the best decisions for your case.

Over the years, I have been selected to train new police officers and Deputy District Attorneys on DUI laws, procedures, and tactics. I have also given lectures on DUI defense throughout Southern California. That experience gives me a strong understanding of how these cases are investigated, prosecuted, and defended.

LANE SCHERER

SENIOR CRIMINAL DEFENSE ATTORNEY

Lane Scherer brings decades of criminal defense experience, courtroom knowledge, and compassion to RNS Law Group. She has spent her career standing beside people during some of the most stressful and uncertain moments of their lives.

Ms. Scherer was born in the Midwest and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia. After earning her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana, she dedicated herself to public service. She worked with VISTA, now known as AmeriCorps, on a Native American reservation in North Dakota, later conducted research involving homebound elderly individuals in Virginia, and taught college-level English to active-duty military personnel while living in Okinawa, Japan.

After moving to California, Ms. Scherer worked as a supportive services assistant for the Area Agency on Aging in Orange County while attending law school at Western State University. During law school, she received American Jurisprudence Awards and was a semi-finalist in moot court competition. She completed law school in December 1987, passed the California Bar, and was sworn in as an attorney in August 1988.

Ms. Scherer began her legal career as a Deputy Public Defender with the Orange County Public Defender's Office. For the next ten years, she handled hundreds of criminal cases, including DUI matters, domestic violence-related cases, misdemeanors, felonies, drug offenses, and violent crimes.

In 1994, Ms. Scherer was honored as a co-recipient of the Don Simms Attorney of the Year Award. She is also a member of the National College of DUI Defense and attended its summer seminar at Harvard University in August 2004. Ms. Scherer was also selected by invitation to join the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Trial Lawyers.

At RNS Law Group, Ms. Scherer helps clients facing DUI, domestic violence, and other criminal defense matters, as well as individuals seeking a fresh start through expungement.

Ms. Scherer takes a personal interest in each client and looks at the whole picture, not just the charge. Her goal is to protect her clients' rights, guide them through the legal process, and work toward the best possible outcome.

DENISE YANIV

DIRECTOR, SENIOR DUI ATTORNEY

Denise Yaniv is not your typical Los Angeles lawyer. She was born and raised on a horse and cattle ranch in North Dakota, where she learned determination, responsibility, and compassion from an early age.

Her compassion first led her toward a career as a paramedic. That path eventually led her into law enforcement, where she graduated as "The Honor Graduate" of her police academy. But Denise's experience as a police officer and paramedic changed the direction of her life. While working in law enforcement, she saw firsthand how unfair the system could be, especially toward people who were already vulnerable or misunderstood.

Those experiences helped shape her decision to become a criminal defense attorney. Denise knew she wanted to stand on the other side of the courtroom — defending people, protecting their rights, and making sure they were not judged by one mistake or one difficult moment in their life.

In 2000, Denise became a first-generation college student and moved to Southern California with two small children and a strong determination to build a better future. In 2003, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from UCLA with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. In 2005, she earned her Juris Doctor from Southwestern University School of Law.

Since becoming an attorney, Denise has made it her mission to fight for people facing the criminal justice system. She understands that a DUI, domestic violence arrest, or criminal charge can affect every part of a person's life, including their family, employment, professional license, reputation, and future opportunities.
